48th Annual WSOP 2017 Full Schedule Released

The 48th Annual World Series of Poker (WSOP) schedule has been announced. The 49-day event opens at the Rio All Suite Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas on Tuesday 30 May and will run until Monday 17 July when the Main Event final line-up of nine has been determined.

The surprise early release by Caesars of the schedule for WSOP 2017 will be useful for anybody keen to make travel plans for the world of poker’s annual pilgrimage.

With 74 events, which take place across nearly 500 tables of the Rio’s 100,000 square feet of ballroom, the 2017 schedule will not disappoint. The emphasis this year is squarely on diversity and big prize pools with the aim of broadening the mass appeal of poker. Also to encourage first timers and rookies to experience first hand the atmosphere and excitement of the WSOP.

WSOP Highlights

Colossus III
Starts Friday 2 June (6 days)
Buy-in $565
This micro-buy-in event is returning for the third time this year. It features three start dates and re-entry is permitted on a different day.

Millionaire Maker
Saturday 10 June (5 days)
Buy-in $1,500
The popular low buy-in event returns and guarantees a £1 million payout.

Monster Stack
Saturday 24 June (5 days)
Buy-in $1,500
Is a huge event with slow blind levels and 15,000 starting chips.

Little One for One Drop
Tuesday 11 July
Buy-in $1,111
Is an annual charity event that takes place during the Main Event.

Seniors Event
Friday 16 June
Buy-in $1,000
A WSOP classic open to players of the age of 50.

Ladies Event
Friday 7 July
Buy-in $1,000
The annual ladies-only tournament that is actually open to men but at an inflated buy-in of $10,000.

The Main Event
Buy-in $10,000
The WSOP Main Event will not play out until November once the 9-player final table is determined on 17 July.

What’s New for 2017?

WSOP 2017 will see the introduction of eight new events, including two online events, which brings the grand total up to 74 games.

Tag Team No-Limit Hold’em Championship
Wednesday 31, 15.00 (3 days)
Buy-in $10,000
The second event of the of the series will be a great kick-off for WSOP 2017 and allows players to pool their talents and switch players within teams of 2-4.

WSOP.com ONLINE No-Limit Hold’em
Saturday 3 June, 15.33
Buy-in $333
Building on the success of previous online events this will be open to online players in Nevada.

The Giant No-limit Hold’em
Friday 9 June (7days)
Buy-in $365
This event sets the record for the lowest live buy-in for a WSOP Bracelet event which will open the field to those who until now might only have dreamed of taking part in the WSOP. The entrant numbers are likely to be huge. Also, features unlimited re-entry during the open registration period.

The Marathon No-limit Hold’em
Monday 12, 11.00 (5 days)
Buy-in $2,600
Tournament with 100-minute levels and deep starting stacks of 26,200.

Turbo Bounty No-limit Hold’em
Tuesday 20 June, 11.00|
Buy-in $1,000
Bounties $300
A portion of the buy-in becomes a bounty on the player’s head and goes to anyone who knocks that player out. A great event for recouping your buy-in.

Big Bet Mix
Friday 30 June, 15.00
Buy-in $2,500
No-limit and Pot-limit games.

WSOP.com ONLINE No-Limit Hold’em High Roller
Saturday 1 July, 15.33
Buy-in $3,333
Online tournament open to players in Nevada. No guaranteed pool.

No-Limit Hold’em/Pot-Limit Omaha 8-Handed Mix
Monday 3 July, 15.00 (3 days)
Buy-in $1,500
Is a tournament with 60-minute levels and starting stacks of 7,500.

New Credit Card Rules
Also for the first time this year, new credit card rules will apply allowing players to use their cards for buy-ins up to the whopping figure of $10,000. Previously the limit was $1,500, and this will be a bit of a game-changer for players in terms of saving time and hassle, that’s assuming that their credit cards can take it.
